Diego Luz
(Born in Mexico City / Nacido en la Ciudad de México)
He studied at the National School of Painting, Engraving and Sculpture La Esmeralda, took private classes with famous painters, who influenced him in his refined technique and care of the details that he captures on the canvas.
In his works Diego Luz applies intense, bright and colorful contrasts. When we zoom in on his paintings we will see a chaotic mix of colors and superimposed oil layers; however, moving away from painting we can appreciate many images in harmony, which makes us feel an explosive vitality: a mix and carefree Pop Art, Abstract Expressionism and Tachism.
He has participated in various international exhibitions, collective and individual, including: Sun Gallery in Miami Beach, Florida, USA. Live Art Auction 2017, Museum of Modern Art of Mexico City. Art Fair Mexico City, Singapore and Hong Kong, Fair Mexico Contemporary Art MACO; “Shows” International Fair Contemporary Art, WTC 2002; Poplar University Museum; Museum of the City of Queretaro; Academy of San Carlos.
Estudió en la Escuela Nacional de Pintura, Gravado y Escultura La Esmeralda, tomó clases particulares con famosos pintores, quienes lo influenciaron en su refinada técnica y cuidado de los detalles que él plasma en el lienzo.
En sus obras Diego Luz aplica intensos, brillantes y coloridos contrastes. Cuando hacemos un acercamiento a sus pinturas veremos una mezcla caótica de colores y capas de óleo superpuestas; sin embargo, al alejarnos de la pintura podemos apreciar muchas imágenes en harmonía, lo cual nos hace sentir una vitalidad explosiva: una mezcla y desenfado de Arte Pop, Expresionismo Abstracto y Tachismo.
Ha participado en diversas exhibiciones internacionales, colectivas e individuales, que incluyen: Sun Gallery in Miami Beach, Florida, USA. Live Art Auction 2017, Museum of Modern Art of Mexico City.
